The Beauty in Things I Could Complain About

The Beauty in the Music Nowadays

There was a time I was up on new music and upcoming performances, underground tapes and the next hot artist and now I look at my younger brother for answers or go to Google and YouTube to find out who the heck “they’re” talking about when I hear someone mentioned.  Half these young boys, in A-line t-shirts (unbeknownst to them that they’re called A-line t-shirts) and too tight pants that hang under their buttocks with names that begin with ‘lil  who spit silly lyrics to go along with their silly names seem all the same to me and they all seem unworthy of my money and my time.  Often times I write them off thinking that the state of music, or hip hop specifically, is tragically worsening, but then I reminded of the Beauty: the Beauty in someone is always creating something new and this too shall pass, the Beauty in my friends who are talented, the Beauty in understanding past generations who used to complain about my generation, the Beauty in “old-school” segments that now play my music,  the Beauty in having more reasons to read a book, the Beauty in the music nowadays.waka-cover_june12
